Together with SLA, Rambøll and Antropologerne we are prequalified to develop a new building design for creating and innovating in the field of volunteering in Red Cross Denmark. The project will be designed in close relation with the volunteers through a userdriven proces.

Together with BBP, ISC consulting engineers and MASU planning we have been prequalified for housing project with 100 – 150 apartments for Boligforeningen 3b.

NORD Architects, 3RW Architects and NODE are announced winners of a competition to design a 11.000 sqm healthcare center in Randaberg close to Stavanger. The Center is built as a community of houses inspired by the old type of Norwegian Hamlet called a Grend.
In cooperation with a user group NORD has just designed a Multipurpose Sports Facility in Ørestad City for the City of Copenhagen. The building will add a new, public space for several sports activities and will also work as a pocketpark.

The exhibition “Possible Greenland” originally exhibited at the Architecture Biennale in Venice in 2012 is to be exhibited at Katuaq Culture House in Nuuk, Greenland.

Together with 3RW arkitekter, ecological expert Christian Mong and civil engineer Helge Hopen we have been prequalified for a development study for Fyllingsdalen south of Bergen, Norway.

NORD Architects, COBE, PK3 and Grontmij are announched as winners of the competition to design a new kindergarden in Copenhagen for 618 children. The site is in central Copenhagen next to Christiania on Christianshavn. The project can be found under featured projects.

Together with 3RW arkitekter, NODE Rådgivende Ingeniører we have been prequalified for the Nye Vardheim Health Center in Norway. The projekt consists of 9000 m2 combined refurbishment and new buildings. We will be competing against, – Narud Stokke Wiig Arkitekter og Planleggere m/ Arkitektkontoret Gasa, – Arkitektfirmaet C.F. Møller Norge m/ Dronninga Landskap, – Arkitektfirma Helen & Hard m/ Dyrvik Arkitekter.

NORD architects is toegther with Christensen og Co, Kragh og Berglund Landskab, BALSLEV – and Oluf Jørgensen Rådgivende Ingeniører chosen for the competition on Gentofte Sportspark. The project contains a new stadion and spectator facilities, new sports halls and common facilities.

NORD’s work over the last 10 years is represented in the new book edited by Kristoffer Lindhardt Weiss and Kjeld Vindum “New Wave in Danish Architecture”. Hope the book will spread the ideas and focus of our generations influence on architecture both nationally and internationally.

We are looking forward to the opening of the Venice Biennale in August. NORD Architects co-curated the content for the Danish Pavilion together with Minik Rosing and the Danish Architecture Center. We will participate in panel discussions at the opening of the Biennale.

We are proud to be invited to contribute to the exhibition “NEW NORDIC” at Louisiana Museum of Modern Art. Opening the 29 of June 2012.

The Danish contribution for the Venice Biennale 2012 has entered its final production stage.
We are as co-curators exited to see the final project emerge for the opening in august.

Together with WLP contractors we have been invited to be a part of the competition for a sportsclub in the municipality of Allerød. We will be competing with fellow architects Christensen & Co, Dorthe Mandrup and Wilhelm Lauritzen.

Together with COBE, PK3 and Gronmitj we have been prequalified for a large combined daycare, youth club institutional area in Copenhagen. The title for the project is “Børne Byen” and is placed right next to Christiania.

Together with Christensen & Co, Rambøll and Helle Nebelong we have been prequalified for the competition for two new daycare institutions in “de gamles by” in Copenhagen.

Nord will exhibit the Healthcare Center for Cancer on the 3rd international biennale in Moscow. The exhibition will be called “Nordic ID” and contain the works of several leading nordic offices. From Denmark the following offices will take part: Bjarke Ingels Group, NORD Architects, DorteMandrupArchitects, Cobe, Lundgaard &Tranberg.

Together with our team on Bispebjerg Hospital we have won the masterplan competition for Bispebjerg Hospital! We look forward to the next phase where we will developing the project further together with the client.

We have been prequalified for the competition of the refurbishment of the 1960 iconic development 1000 gardens in Albertslund. The project will be done together with Mangor og Nagel, MASU planning and Alectia.

Our masterplan for a new development outside Bergen designed together with OG Arkitekter is now handed in. The masterplan was well reciaved and will now be the foundation for further development.

We have reached the second phase of the competition for a new kindergarden in Rudersdal Municipality.

The healthcare center for cancer in Copenhagen is finished and we are pleased by the result. The center is already in use and we receive good response from the users, staff and visitors.

NORD Architects have just returned from a survey trip in Nuuk/Greenland. The purpose was to engage as co-curators in a dialogue between Greenlandic and Danish architectural offices in the process of developing Denmark’s contribution for the Venice Biennale 2012.

NORD Architects have qualified for a parallel feasibility study in Bergen/Norway. The task is to design a new urban development with 1500 houses in collaboration with the local office OG Arkitekter.

NORD Architects have qualified for a competition to develop a new masterplan for the Bispebjerg Hospital together with a competent international team.

NORD Architects are co-curating Denmark’s contribution for the Venice Biennale 2012. The project is initiated by the DAC and main curator Minik Rosing. The project is addressing the future development of Greenland.

Together with Vilhelm Lauritzen, Christensen & co, Cobe and Effekt, Nord Architects has won the competition for the first fase of Carlsberg Byen.

The Guldberggade Schoolyard is now open to the public. The combined public space and schoolyard contains numerous facilities for vertical and horizontal play and activities as well as the biggest “hot lava” area in Copenhagen.

NORD Architects are working for the Danish Road Association on improving the traffic facilities in Vester Aaby, Funen. The project focuses on safety issues as well as defining the public spaces and improving accessibility.

Nord Architects have completed a course at Nordhavnen for öresundsklassrummet, a municipal body in the Öresund region, which focuses on education on sustainable development for children.

Nord Architects are working on redesigning the educational and common facilities at Helsingør Lilleskole.

We are looking for interns in the office for the fall of 2011.

Nord has been prequalified together with Wilhelm Lauritzen, Christensen & CO, Cobe and Effekt for the first fase of Carlsberg Byen. The first fase is 110.000 m2.

Nord Architects will be taking part in the competition for the addition and refurbishment of Skolen ved Søerne in the Municipality of Frederiksberg. We are looking forward to the challenge and will be using our extensive knowledge within the field of educational buildings. The projekt will be developed together with SLA and Orbicon.

Nord Architects will be taking part of one of Denmarks biggest planning competitions together with 3xN, Arup, Søren Jensen og Jeppe Aagaard.

The building is published in the latest edition of detail focusing on sustainability. Lately the building have implemented a small windmill park and solarpanels both for educational use and for running the low energy use of the building.

The building is nominated by the Danish Architects Association. The Award is the European Commision and Fundacio Mies van der Rohe jointed initiative to recognise and commend excellence in the field of architecture. The price is given every second year.


The construction of the healthcare centre for cancer patients is now started. The building will be finished summer 2011. Nord Architects is currently also working with the design of the interior of the building.

NORD Architects has gone through to the final stage of the competition Nørre Campus. The competition entry will give the University of Copenhagen and the surrounding urban concext a new character and identity. The competition is a collaboration between Nord Architects, Spacegrop (Olso) and Arups.

The finished building is now being published in various magazines both nationally and internationally. The magazine Arkitektur.dk also contains a interview concerning the contemporary sustainable context in which the project is created.

NORD Architects has been pre qualified for the competition Nørre Campus. The competition entry should give the University of Copenhagen and the surrounding urban concext a new character and identity.

NORD architects are together with Arkitema working on a new masterplan in close proximity to the future femern bridge to Germany

NORD Architects has just finished a new urban redevelopment plan for the municipality of Copenhagen. The area Husum is placed in the western part of Copenhagen and will over the next 5 years be redeveloped according to the plan. The plan was made together with the innhabitants of the area in a user focused design proces.

NORD Architects are designing the pocket park in Ørestad City in Copenhagen are also working on the design for the new landsape proosal for the new school in Ørestad.


The CEO Kent Martinussen of the Danish Architecture Centre names the Natural Science Center among the 10 best building designs done by danish architects over the last 10 years

NORD Architects has won the competition for a new masterplan in Århus. The competition also included a building design for a new cultura building done by 3xn and Exner. Both entries won the competition.

NORD Architects won the competition for a new ground breaking project in the Municipality of Copenhagen. The healthcare Center for Cancer is a new typology between the tranqulity of being at home and being treated in a big institution.

First dig at the smal urban park at Nørrebro, Copenhagen. NORD designed the park in collaboration with local citizens, children and youth. Shønherr landcape are detailing and completing the project.

The rebuilding of the public school is now completed. NORD was handling a userdriven design proces involving teachers’, principals, parents’ and students in collaboration with Cebra. The results was a re- organized and re-programmed school along with a new design manual. The project is detailed and completed by JJW architects.
