Louisehjemmet

Care at a Human Scale

Louisehjemmet is rooted in the values of the Danish Deaconess Foundation: security, dignity, and quality of life. The care home is guided by compassion, integrity, and high professional standards – for residents and their families alike.

These values are embedded in the architecture, which prioritises intimacy, human scale, and a sense of orientation and safety. Across 120 homes, residents are supported in living healthy, dignified lives as active participants in the local community.

The physical environment is designed to support residents in living the everyday life they wish for and are able to manage. Louisehjemmet’s layout offers a range of settings that can provide shelter from sensory stimulation and noise, while equally inviting community and activity.

Views of Teglværkskvarteret’s residential  neighbourhood, Allerød School, and the natural landscape of Fælleden allow residents to stay connected to the rhythms of daily life around them. Two enclosed courtyards offer residents shelter and security while allowing free movement. A generous roof terrace is centrally located on the first floor.

Louisehjemmet care home is situated in  Teglværkskvarteret – Allerød’s new neighbourhood designed for an ageing population. The neighbourhood brings together a range of housing options for older generations, including senior apartments, senior co-housing, multigenerational housing, and a free-choice care home. In addition to the care home itself, NORD has developed the masterplan for the wider area and is designing the full range of mixed housing types. Read more about Teglværkskvarteret.
