Køge Culture House
This innovative cultural node promotes versatility and exchange between functions
Køge is not only a source of culture, it is a continual provider. In NORD Architects proposal for the new cultural centre in Køge, culture as a concept needed to be investigated, tested and challenged. The Køge Culture House is a dynamic building that connects four different cultural institutions in one scheme, thereby creating a space where the citizens of Køge can now explore culture in its varied and diverse forms. Different activities share common space and each of them contributes to the life of the building.

The building not only unites the cultural life of Køge, it also challenges the general perception of culture by creating formally and functionally diverse spaces that can be experienced by the users.
A combination of regular shapes and simple geometry create flexible zones, where visitors can experience the contrasting materialities, light and interplay between interior and exterior spaces.
