Nad Kaminkou Housing

Nad Kaminkou is a residential area of the Prague 16 area Zbraslav. NORD participated alongside Czech Republic-based UPSTRUCTURE in the competition for creating an entire new residential complex in the area.

The development is seen as a natural continuation of the existing urban structures and the key elements in our project were the connection of the complex to existing architecture, landscape and how different functions and social spaces could be centralized and made easily accessible in the buildings as well as the surroundings.

Together with UPSTRUCTURE, NORD developed a concept that focused largely on creating a continuous connection between the five buildings and the shared outdoor spaces, so the residents would experience spaces that are both inviting and social, as well as accessibility to more private spaces and nooks, without compromising the feeling of safety and comfort.
All five buildings provide ample amounts of natural daylight, good views of the surroundings and natural and soft boundaries between private and public, made up of greenery, walls and fences.
